When your in a sea of people all around you, is it still possible to fell alone? I think it is very possible because people can make you feel like an outsider by ignoring you or giving you a mean look. You do not have to be physically exiled to be alone. This is proven in the Angelo-Saxon poem, The Wander. The poem is about a man who lost everything and is in search of a place to feel welcomed. On his journey everyone gives him the cold shoulder. He says " No one knew me, now, no one offered comfort allowed me feasting or joy. How cruel a journey I've traveled, sharing my bread with sorrow alone, an exile in every land," The world has allowed for people to just slip out of sight without out anyone knowing. They can just keep going on with their lives without any friends or a place to call home. People are able to walk through a crowd filled with people all around but still feel alone. For this reason, I believe it is possible to feel alone in a crowd.
